Google co–founder Sergey Brin sheds light on a technology that would enable us to browse and surf the internet merely by staring into a glass instead of punching keys on desktop or tablets. He revealed his vision of the Google Glass or Google Goggles at the TED 2013 conference in Long Beach, California. The new gadget is a hands–free, voice activated, augmented–reality headset from Google.

One of the peculiar features of these glasses includes its ability to browse and surf the internet directly on the frame of the users’ spectacles. It also enables the user to take a picture by merely commanding with a voice to “take picture”. It can even pull up maps, broadcast news and weather reports and read email, all with simple voice commands.

According to Brin, it is one step ahead from Smartphones and tablets as it allows the user to connect with information without disconnecting with people. The device is priced at $1,500 and would be available in the market within a year.
