Cyber Brain
IBM Corp researchers have designed a prototype computer chip that can make a computer perform like a human brain. According to them the prototype chips can process data the way humans grasp information.
The chip was developed in a six-year-long project that saw the involvement of 100 researchers and investment of $41 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency or DARPA. The prototype offers a glance into how the final chips would literally think like a human brain.
The chip’s key feature is that it can adapt to types of information that isn’t programmed into it. It can be used to manoeuvre cars and play games and the company has stated that it would be released as a product in almost a decade.
