The person who indulges in self-torturing thoughts like fasting or uprooting his own hair is bound to perform acts that will cause pain to others. Now you say, how can such a person who inflicts pain on others ever be happy?

Only he, who lives freely can enjoy life to the fullest. An egoist can never live freely. And it is also true, how can a person tied up in numerous bondages do anything else but die each moment he lives?

What is the difference between a theist and an atheist? An atheist is the one who fails to recognize the ultimate supremacy of nature; hence he is trying to enhance life with the help of the knowledge cultivated by his brain. A theist is the one who does not apply his brain at all. He completely surrenders to the existence, allowing nature to make and mould him as it deems right.
