Sao Tome and Principe
<p style="color:#dbdbdb ;padding:20px; border-left:5px solid #497dff;">Sao Tome and Principe or officially known as the ‘Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe’ is a Portuguese speaking island nation in the Gulf of Guinea, off the Western coast of Central Africa. The two main islands are a part of a mountain range consisting of non-active volcanoes. The island of Sao Tome was named after Saint Thomas by the Portuguese explorers who arrived on the island during the Saint’s feast day. The islands were actually inhabited before the arrival of Portuguese around 1470 and was discovered by ‘Joao Santarem and Pedro Escobar’. The country functions under a multiple party system. Sao Tome is covered by dense mountainous jungle, which have been carved out for plantation. Principe consists of jagged mountains. The other islands in the republic are Pedras Tinhosas and Rolas. About 95% of the population lives in Sao Tome. Sao Tome is the capital and the largest city in this country. Sao Tome and Principe is the second-smallest African country and the smallest Portuguese-speaking country.</p>

City of San Marino is the capital. The highest point in the country is the summit of Monte Titano situated at 749 m (2,457 ft) above sea level. San Marino is the third smallest country in Europe and has no natural level ground; it entirely comprises of hilly terrain. Dogana is the largest city of San Marino. San Marino is also the oldest surviving sovereign state and constitutional republic in the world. A citizen of San Marino is called ‘Sammarinese’. According to tradition, San Marino was found by a Christian stonemason named Marinus in 301 A.D. who had escaped from the Roman Empire to seek freedom from religious persecution.</p>

Being a developing economy, about half of its population lives in poverty. Africa’s popular destination, safari, is Kenya and the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, is its economic hub. Much of the electricity produced in Kenya is through the hydroelectricity. The indigenous people referred Kenya as ‘Mt. Kirinyaga’ which means ‘mountain of whiteness’. However, the British could not pronounce the name of the country easily and so it was called Kenya. It was the struggle of the liberation icon Jomo Kenyatta that led Kenya achieve its independence in the year 1963. It was a de facto one-party state until 1982, after which the Kenya African National Union (KANU) made a sole legal party in Kenya.</p>
