Vanuatu is a Y shaped island nation consisting of over eighty islands, out of them sixty-five are inhabited. To the north of Vanuatu is Solomon Islands; to the south is New Caledonia; to the east is Fiji; Australia and Coral Sea are to the west. The largest island in Vanuatu is Espiritu Santo. Port Vila situated on the south-central island of Efate is the capital and the largest city of the country. The name Vanuatu is derived from the word ‘Vanua’ which means ‘land’ in number of Vanuatu’s one hundred and five languages. The translations of the new name also include ‘Abiding Land’ or ‘Our Land’.</p>

Qatar lies to the west, Saudi Arabia lies to the south and west and Oman lies to the north and east of UAE. Iran and Qatar share sea borders with UAE. The UAE comprises of seven small emirates that include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al-Qaiwain and Fujairah. The seven emirates were united as federal state on 2 December 1971. Abu Dhabi is the largest emirate as it represents 85% of the land whereas Ajman is the smallest emirate. The UAE share its culture with its neighbouring Arab countries and its large Arab culture. The capital and the largest city of UAE is Abu Dhabi.</p>

Tuvalu is situated in the Pacific Ocean, midway between Australia and Hawaii. It lies to the east of Solomon Islands, to the north of Fiji and to the south and southeast of Kiribati. It comprises of six atolls and three reef islands. The islands include Niulakita, Nukulaelae, Funafuti, Nukufetau, Vaitupu, Nui, Niutao, Nanumaga and Nanumea. Tuvalu is the third-least populous sovereign state in the world. Funafuti is the capital of Tuvalu. The name Tuvalu refers to the country’s eight inhabited islands. Tuvalu was named the Ellice Islands in the year 1819 when Edward Ellice, a British Member of Parliament visited the islands of Funafuti. The British colony of Gilbert Islands (Kiribati) and the Ellice Islands were formed in the year 1916, but Ellice Islands demanded for separation from the Gilbert Islands in the year 1974. Ellice Islands became British Colony of Tuvalu in the year 1975 and gained their independence in the following year 1978.</p>
