Contemplating upon divine qualities, performing good deeds and chanting are all ways of destroying delusion through satsang.
It is inevitable that a tragedy should arouse sorrowful feelings. Still, out of that sorrow itself comes a feeling of triumph – the victory of the human will over the most adverse circumstances. And thus out of sorrow and defeat come joy and victory.
The faith of every man, O Arjuna, accords with his nature, Man is made up of faith; as is his faith, so is he. The threefold austerity practiced with faith by men of balanced mind, without any expectation of reward, is said to be pure.
A fasting person is in a state of worship even if asleep in bed. Every breath he takes while asleep is ‘tasbih’, and his sleep itself is worship.
Devotion to God’s Name is my lamp; In this lamp is poured the oil of suffering. The light of realisation burns away this oil…Vast loads of firewood are reduced to ashes by a tiny spark of fire.
If the mind becomes balanced and detached, and comes to dwell in its own true home, imbued with reverence for the Divine, then it enjoys the essence of supreme spiritual wisdom; it shall never feel hunger again.
