To awaken to the absolute view is profound and transformative, but to awaken from all fixed points of view is the birth of true non-duality.
He it is, the innermost one, who awakens my being with his deep hidden touches. He it is who puts his enchantment upon these eyes and joyfully plays on the chords of my heart in varied cadence of pleasure and pain.
That which gives pleasure to one man gives pain to another. That sage who identifies himself with the imperishable Self and stands as a spectator of the mental modifications enjoys supreme peace and infinite bliss.
A yogi who perceives his real Self as separate from his active senses and their objects never becomes attached to anything. He is aware of the dream nature of the universe and watches it without being entangled in its complex but ephemeral nature.
Pain and joy are like light and darkness; they are two sides of the same medal. They are interdependent and inseparably connected to each other.
