Food to a large extent is what holds a society together and eating is closely linked to deep spiritual experiences.
The jiva or living being is endowed with ego and his knowledge is limited, whereas Ishwar is without ego and is omniscient.
Life should be full of colours! And each colour is meant to be seen and enjoyed separately, for if seen all mixed together, they will appear all black. Similarly, in life, different roles played by the same person should exist peacefully and distinctly inside him. Lift your spirit with the joy of colour.
Now you worship His Form, you repeat His name; ignoring His orders. Without practicing the discipline laid down by Rama to purify the mind, all else is mere show, empty rituals.
It is inevitable that a tragedy should arouse sorrowful feelings. Still, out of that sorrow itself comes a feeling of triumph – the victory of the human will over the most adverse circumstances. And thus out of sorrow and defeat come joy and victory.
Compassion is fellow feeling or sorrow for the sufferings of another. Compassion opens the door for freedom and expands the heart. It melts the hardened and makes people as soft as butter.
