To exercise forgiveness is a great act. Forgiveness is equal to ablutions at all places of pilgrimage. Forgiveness ensures your salvation. There is no virtue equal to forgiveness.
This is true knowledge: to seek the Self as the true end of wisdom always. To seek anything else is ignorance.
Truly, it is in darkness that one finds the light, so when we are in sorrow, then this light is nearest of all to us.
You may control a mad elephant; You may shut the mouth of the bear and the tiger; Ride the lion and play with the cobra; By alchemy you may earn your livelihood; You may wander through the universe incognito; Make vassals of the gods; be ever youthful; You may walk on water and live in fire; But control of the mind is better and more difficult.
To understand oneself profoundly, one needs balance. Neither renunciation nor acquiescence.
That which gives pleasure to one man gives pain to another. That sage who identifies himself with the imperishable Self and stands as a spectator of the mental modifications enjoys supreme peace and infinite bliss.
